Our Volunteers
We have a dedicated, loyal band of volunteers, many of who have been with us from the start, but we always need more. We don’t mind if you can only spare a few hours a week or even a month – you will be very welcome. Working in the shop is a brilliant way of getting to know others in the village.
How you can help:
Serving in the shop – the shifts to be covered are in 2 or 3 hour slots. If you can only do a couple of hours a month that will help and we still want to hear from you.
Making hot drinks & serving cake – if you don’t fancy working behind the till then we also need volunteers to make and serve drinks and wash-up, especially in the summer months and at weekends and Bank Holidays.
Baking – if you don’t have time to spare to work in the shop then we need people to make cakes, buns and cookies for us especially at weekends. We will reimburse you for ingredients and oven time.
Jams & Chutneys – we sell homemade marmalade, jams, chutneys and honey in the shop and we need people to make them for us. As with the cakes we will reimburse you.
Odd Jobs – we also need volunteers to carry out repairs and simple maintenance work.
